• Firstly, because the diesel engine works on the principle that the air is compressed at high temperature and pressure, then the new Diesel fuel is injected into the combustion chamber, when Under such high pressure and high temperature, the Diesel oil itself ignites and does work. It doesn't need an ignition system like a gasoline engine does, so it needs a very high compression ratio. Normally, the compression ratio of diesel engines falls between 15 and 24, while for gasoline engines it is only about 8 to 13.

Therefore, it will lead to an increase in the size and mass of the Diesel engine, which is also why the same power is produced, the Diesel engine is always heavier and larger. gasoline engine. That's why, the integration of such a large engine on a small motorcycle is not suitable compared to our use of gasoline engines.

• Secondly, due to the problem of needing a high compression ratio of the Diesel engine, the length of the cylinder also increases, the length of the cylinder increases, it will lead to a groaning arm. and the length of the crankshaft also increases, then in terms of mechanics, the piston of a Diesel engine will fluctuate in a wider range than it does for a gasoline engine, that's why is that it will vibrate more and noisier than the gasoline engine. In cars today, there is technology that can handle this vibration and high noise, but to handle this noise of Diesel engines that are installed on motorcycles or motorcycles. a small car is very difficult.

• The third is the problem of the cost of Diesel engine and the cost of repairing it will be higher than that of gasoline engines, so why is that? Because the diesel engine will operate at a very high temperature and pressure, that's why the material that makes up the Diesel engine, it needs to be better and more durable than the diesel engine. gasoline engine. The second is that although the structure of the diesel engine is simpler than that of the gasoline engine, some parts and details require higher precision, such as the fuel pump system. The data of the diesel engine requires more sophisticated precision, so it is also more expensive than the ignition system on the gasoline engine.

• Also due to the structural nature of the diesel engine, when it works, the piston it will have to work over a longer distance, hence the crank arm and crankshaft, the length. of the crankshaft it will be larger than that of the gasoline engine, then the traction or more precisely the torque of the diesel engine will be greater than that of the gasoline engine. But since the acceleration of the diesel engine is lower than that of the gasoline engine, that is, its power is lower than that of the gasoline engine, then the diesel engine in general is more suitable than the gasoline engine. For large motor vehicles, a large towing capacity is required. For example, a truck or a large SUV, but for a small car or a motorbike, the… it is not suitable, especially for motorbikes, motorbikes are not. it needs acceleration more than traction.

• Currently, the diesel engine wants to work well in extreme weather conditions, especially when the weather is cold, the diesel engine is often difficult to start, so on modern cars today it is they equipped the system to dry the air so that it heats up during startup. It is not appropriate to install such a kit for motorbikes, because a motorbike is a vehicle that requires a cheap price and meets the majority of consumers, so it is If you want a diesel engine that works optimally on motorcycles and yet needs to install so many things, then in terms of cost alone, it's already unreasonable. Not to mention that it will make our engine system cumbersome and much more complicated.

• Currently, Diesel engines want to operate efficiently, usually car manufacturers often have a turbocharger to pump more air into the cylinder, increasing the efficiency of fuel combustion. Well, like the one I mentioned above, if it is integrated with so many things, it will be very cumbersome, but its price is quite high, especially for these turbochargers, its price will be quite high.

• One last reason that I think is that for developing countries like Vietnam, it is not very demanding, that is, diesel engines emit more toxic fumes than gasoline engines, Therefore, in some countries it has a high requirement for environmental laws, if you want to use a diesel engine on vehicles, the engine needs to be fitted with a catalyst, so that If you want to install this catalyst on a motorcycle, it's not reasonable anymore.
